Principal’s News – May 2025
It’s never too late to be what you might have been – George Eliot
We are excited to announce that Rebecca Bass will be joining Draper Elementary next year as our new Assistant Principal. Please join us in welcoming her!
Hello Draper Elementary Community,
Many of you may know me from my role as one of the Assistant Principals at Corner Canyon High School this past school year. While I’ve truly cherished my time there, I’m incredibly excited to begin this new journey with you as Draper’s very first Assistant Principal. I requested this move to spend more time with my family, and I’m grateful for the opportunity. I’m a wife of just over 10 years, a mother of two, and an educator who is deeply passionate about helping students succeed. I’ve spent most of my life here in the Utah Valley and absolutely love everything this state has to offer—from the Red Rocks in the south to the snowy mountains in the north. I’m an avid reader, a passion that began in elementary school. I hope to inspire our students to discover that same love for reading and learning. I look forward to working alongside Mrs. Mulqueen to create a positive, engaging learning environment for every student to learn grow and thrive. Here’s to a great year ahead!
Warmly, Mrs. Bass
If you plan to attend any field or support any classroom function, please remember to complete your background check. This must be done every year for every volunteer.
Missing a coat, jacket, water bottle? Check our lost and found. All remaining items will be donated at the end of the year.
Monday’s with Marissa is a Final Fiesta! An energized Jeopardy game will help students review all topics we have discussed this year.
With end of year testing beginning, it is important for your child to be getting a consistent amount of sleep each night. One way to promote this is to establish a tech free bedtime routine. Encouraging screen-free time before bedtime promotes better sleep as the blue light emitted by screens can interfere with sleep patterns.
This month’s safety drill will be a fire drill. We will evacuate the building as normal. Draper has done an amazing job adjusting to the new safety system.
