Helping Your Kids Deal with Digital Drama
Most kids will encounter mean behavior at some point in their digital lives. To some kids, this experience is a blip that’s easily forgotten, while for others it can have deep, long-lasting effects. For parents, the key is staying involved in kids’ lives — both online and off — so they can step in and offer help if necessary. With guidance from parents and educators, kids can learn how to dodge the drama and stand up for others. Visit Common Sense Media to learn more about these quick tips.
This month Mondays with Marissa will focus on resolving conflict. The lesson will provide age-appropriate communication with words and phrases to help guide students through conflict. During the lesson, students will share what they see as the most common conflicts and brainstorm effective ways to address the issue.
Our monthly safety drill will be the hold drill. During this drill we will gather students to their classroom, shut the door, account for all students and staff, and do business as usual.
Healthy habits for kids focus on balanced nutrition, daily physical activity, good hygiene, sufficient sleep, and limited screen time. What habit can you focus on this month and set a goal as a family?
February is full of some great activities. During the first week of the month, our amazing PTA has planned some creative activities to highlight Kindness Week. Keep a look out for all the events coming up. We will celebrate Chinese New Year and end the month with Parent Teacher Conferences.

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held February 24th and 25th. Scheduling will open on February 9th at 8am and will close February 20th at 4pm.
