The Dragons have ignited the path to the top. Draper Elementary is among the top 25 elementary schools in the Greater Salt Lake Area, according to Niche.com’s 2025 rankings, which evaluate schools based on academics, teacher quality, student and parent feedback, and overall school experience.
Canyons School District as a whole also has reason to celebrate, securing the title of “Best School District in Salt Lake County” for the third year in a row. The District continues to stand out with nine elementary schools, five middle schools, and three high schools landing in the region’s top 25.
According to Niche, Draper has earned an overall A grade, with an A for its teachers, an A for academics, and a B in diversity.
These rankings factor in more than just test scores—they consider school culture, teacher salaries, extracurricular opportunities, and the quality of facilities. Niche’s 2025 rankings once again omitted college entrance exam scores, aligning with test-optional admissions.
Canyons District remains a leader in public education, outperforming not only other districts but also area public charter schools, including American Preparatory Academy, Channing Hall, and Summit Academy.
“This recognition speaks to the dedication of our teachers, students, and community,” said Canyons Superintendent Dr. Rick Robins. “It’s a reflection of the incredible work happening every day in our schools.”
