Chinese kids celebrate Chinese New Year with a lot of excitement and joy. They often receive red envelopes, called "hongbao," filled with money from relatives as a symbol of good luck and blessings for the year ahead. Kids also love participating in traditional activities like dragon dances, lion dances, and fireworks. Many children wear new clothes, especially in red, to bring good fortune. It's a time for family reunions, feasting on delicious food, and enjoying games, while the festive atmosphere fills the air with happiness and excitement.
In Draper ES, we carried those traditions and celebrate the Year of the Snake this with loud Dragon/Lion Dance, Kungfu Fan, Flag Dance, the adorable kid songs/games and more. We also brought our Chinese New Year spirit to CCHS for the first Chinese New Year Celebration for the Draper community. We hope see you all next year!
