Principal’s News – May 2026

Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out. – Robert Collier

As we work through challenges and strive to overcome them, we continue to grow and learn together. This is a wonderful time of year to reflect on both the small moments and big accomplishments that have made this school year so meaningful.

As the weather warms up, please review the dress code outlined on page 17 of our Student/Family Handbook. Shorts should be no more than four inches above the knee, tops must cover the shoulders with at least a four-finger width, and midriff shirts are not permitted. Thank you for your continued support in helping students come to school dressed appropriately for the learning environment.

May 4–8 is Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week. We are incredibly grateful for the patience, passion, and dedication of our teachers and staff. Their daily efforts make a lasting impact on our students and help shape them into kind, capable, and contributing citizens at Draper Elementary.

Mondays with Marissa this month will focus on reviewing the character traits and topics we have learned throughout the year. Take a moment to ask your student to share the traits they remember and how they have applied them in their daily lives.

Our monthly safety drill for May will be a fire drill. During this practice, students and staff will evacuate to the field while we account for everyone safely. Thank you for supporting our continued focus on school safety and preparedness.

Field Day is scheduled for May 26. Please remind middle school students that they are not permitted on campus during Field Day activities. Students who arrive on campus will be asked to leave, and failure to do so may result in trespassing consequences.

The last day of school is May 29. Students will be dismissed at 12:50 p.m. Lunch will not be served that day, and students should leave backpacks at home.

Please continue to check Parent Square for updated information regarding grade-level activities, events, and end-of-year celebrations.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are proud of all our Draper Dragons have accomplished this year!
