PARKING LOT DROP OFF AND PICK UP: Things were pretty smooth after the first hectic day but we have noticed a trend that we need your help with. We totally understand how crazy and crowded it is but remember our first priority is student safety so please follow all directions from the staff that is outside.  Also, please DO NOT PARK IN ANY RED CURB ZONES!!  You are making it difficult for the buses to get out of the parking lot.  Thank you for your help with this.

FIRST DAY FOR KINDERGARTEN:  We are so excited to see all these little people on Monday the 27th.  They have been in and out this week meeting their teachers but can’t wait to see their happy faces altogether on Monday.    

SAFETY PATROL:  We have a few students helping us out with the parking lot and playground.  We have them in safe spots with an adult close by but would you please be kind to them and follow their directions?  Thank you so much.

EXTENDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES: It appears that this year we will have the computer lab open Monday through Thursday mornings at 8:00am but it will not be available on Fridays.  We will send information about how to sign up for choir soon.  You have already received information for the orchestra.

WELCOME BACK!!  

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT:  Tonight from 4-6.

SCHOOL COMMUNITY COUNCIL:  We have openings on our School Community Council so I am attaching a copy of the nomination form if you are interested in serving on this very valuable committee.  We meet once a month at a time and date determined by everyone on the committee. The form is due back by Friday August 24th.   14-Candidacy-FormDraper.docx 

REFLECTIONS:  Another school year is beginning and another year to participate in the PTA reflections art program.  The theme for this year is “Heroes around me”.  You can go to the Pta.org website for rules and instructions.  Please be sure to guide your student away from the marvel and dc super heroes as using them would be a copyright infringement and their piece would be unable to move forward in the judging.  We are looking for local heroes, family and friend heroes, unexpected heroes and we can’t wait to see what our students think up!  

ORCHESTRA: 4th& 5thgrade students are invited to join our before school orchestra program.  Mon & Wed for Beginners, Wednesday & Friday for advanced. Begins at 7:45 sharp.  The cost is $180 for the whole year.  Contact Vanessa Croshaw- This email address is being protected from spambots. DRAGON DASH: Monday September 17 at Corner Canyon High School. This is our fundraiser.  We are hoping we ONLY have to have this one fundraiser so please support as much as you can.  Information will be coming home after our assembly on September 7.

CLASSIC SKATE NIGHT: Monday November 6th from 5:30 -8:30pm.  It is FREE.  Say you are with our school and skate rentals are $1.

DRAGONS AND DONUTS:  Thursday November 9th from 8:30-8:40. Please do not park in the Teachers parking area. 

VETERANS DAY CHOIR PERFORMANCE:  The choir will be performing at the Draper Park Veterans Day program from 11:00am – 11:30am on Friday November 10th.

LOST AND FOUND:  We have the items in the front hall at the school.  Please come look to see if anything belongs to your family.  We will be donating the items in another week or so.

TOWN HALL MEETING: Amber Shill and Nancy Tingey are having a Town Hall meeting at Albion Middle School on Wednesday November 1st from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.
